14:30 - Keynote: The Alchemy of Category Leadership / speaker: Dan Gregory
How do we lead, not just our teams, but our entire industry?
To be a truly successful leader, marketer or thought leader, you need to be able to answer this fundamental question and to identify the insights that are driving marketplace behaviour and decision making, to transform these opportunities into commercial advantage and, most importantly, to generate the kind of influence and engagement that turns ideas into action.
In other words, we need to be more connected, more creative and more courageous.
In this exciting and insightful presentation, Dan Gregory will explore the three themes of Insights, Innovation and Influence whilst providing a practical framework for how to apply them to your business and category.
You’ll discover:
INSIGHTS: How to identify what your customers value most
INNOVATION: How to project your business through a value lens
INFLUENCE: How to frame your value in terms of their values
15:30 - WORKSHOP: CLARITY IN A WORLD OF DISTRACTIONS / SPEAKER: CHELSEA POTTENGER
Join Chelsea as she returns to the stage with this engaging workshop. Are you and your team equipped to deal with the stress and speed of today's changing world? After we explore Digital Dementia, Chelsea will equip you to: manage negative feedback loops, create positive emotional contagion and networks, build resilience and thrive in changing situations and environments.
16:30 - PANEL: TECTONIC TRANSFORMATION / MODERATOR: PAUL MCINTYRE
We’ve talked about existential change coming in marketing for a decade and now it’s really here. In this power panel of top Australian marketers, Mi3’s Executive Editor Paul McIntyre moderates a conversation which will test marketers' recall of brands – the fun bit - and we’ll hear their favourite brands and customer experiences as consumers, not marketers. And why.
Then the conversation moves to how brands on the panel are wrestling with the biggest challenges marketing has faced in 20 years.
From CX, martech, cookieless digital acquisition and targeting, universal IDs, the attention economy, AI-powered creative and production, brand building versus short-term acquisition, inhousing and hybrid outsourcing, attribution and econometrics, the new talent crisis, measurement, privacy and regulation, a power shift from media companies to tech vendors and how marketers have to navigate the climate crisis and their contribution to broader corporate Environmental and Social Governance (ESG). It’s a critical, possibly mind-bending conversation for the times. Bring a very big notebook!

08:45 - LEADING & NAVIGATING IN THE NEXT UNKNOWN: THE NEUROSCIENCE OF ADAPTIVITY / SPEAKER: DR FIONA KERR
What has intuition got to do with foresight, and how do you pick up the weak signals of change early enough to adapt?
The latest findings in neuroscience, systems dynamics and human-tech interaction give fascinating insights into how to connect, collaborate and lead in ways that foster trust and complex thinking, align vision and even change each other's brains.
Dr Kerr will unpack the science of interconnectivity and adaptation, from the neural and chemical synchronization of humans and how it changes over technology, to how organisations can be structured to flourish. These insights will help you to move nimbly as change unfolds, and give you a basis from which to judge each ‘next big thing’ in management or technology solutions, to ensure the outcome is what you need.
09:45 - Keynote: Exclusion to Inclusion – Leading an Inclusive Workplace / Speaker: John Briggs
Cultural Conversations
John Briggs has spent a career facilitating positive change by increasing representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across workplaces. In turn strengthening the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
To achieve cultural competency in the workplace and implement effective inclusion plans or strategies, creating Cultural Safety first is instrumental.
“You can agree to disagree, and you can still move forward towards workplace cultural competency. We don’t all need to be on the same team, but we need to be respectful and create conversations for change – this comes through Cultural Safety,” says Mr Briggs.
In this engaging discussion, Johnny draws upon his ‘Cultural Toolbox’ to kick-start the conversations that need to be had.
In his Cultural Toolbox lies a series of questions, language and frameworks to help workplaces gage their level of cultural competency.
The framework helps people and workplaces assess how well they understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures, histories and contemporary contexts.
“Through the Toolbox, we capture people’s goodwill and intentions. The majority response is that people want to know how to contribute to the next steps which capture the power of humanity, kindness and empathy,” says Mr Briggs.
10:45 - KEYNOTE: The era of Strategy convergence. The role of Strategy in Media and beyond / SPEAKER: ASIER CARAZO
As the marketing world keeps getting more and more complex, Strategy as a discipline (or area of expertise) isn't escaping the trend. Today we find all sorts of Strategists in the industry: brand strategists, comms strategists, cx strategists... and all of them have to work together as clients are increasingly asking for integration between agencies, teams and client responses.
In this session Asier will unpack the different strategy 'breeds', the good and the bad of mixing them and how we are entering the era of ‘Strategy Convergence’. This session will identify the key areas of opportunity as we enter this new era.
